Desert Falcons Morning Training: Orange Jerseys and Birthday Celebrations!

Hey there! The Desert Falcons recently kicked off their day with an early morning training session, and this one was extra special. On Saturday, February 15th, the team gathered at QD’s – Deira Creek for a morning training session that doubled as a birthday celebration for Coach Andre from the A-Teams Knight team. Dressed in their vibrant orange jerseys, the Falcons were ready to paddle hard, celebrate, and enjoy some delicious post-training treats. Let’s dive into the details of this fun and meaningful session!

Back in Action After Hong Kong

Just last week, the Desert Falcons and Damen Dragon competed fiercely in Hong Kong, bringing home a silver medal and proving their strength against international teams. The competition was intense, but the Falcons soared, showing grit, teamwork, and relentless spirit. If you missed the action, catch up on their Day 1 silver medal victory here and their Day 2 performance here.

Now, with Hong Kong behind them, it’s time to regroup, refocus, and rebuild endurance for upcoming races.

Rise and Shine for Morning Training

The call time was 5:45 AM, and by 5:55 AM, the team was already loading up. By 6:00 AM, the training officially began. The venue? The beautiful QD’s – Deira Creek, where the calm waters and morning breeze set the perfect scene for a great workout.

And let’s not forget the dress code—orange jerseys! Not only do they make the team look sharp, but they also add a pop of color to the morning. Who says training can’t be stylish?

Meet the Team

Desert Falcon Morning Training

Leading the charge was steerer Intan, keeping the boat steady and ensuring every stroke was strong and in sync. This session wasn’t just about fitness—it was about getting the team back in rhythm after their international adventure.

Here’s how the team lined up:

  • Bow (Left): Lambert, Len, Ferdz, Radhi
  • Stroke (Right): Bolz, IS, Chevy, Ruby, Jobai

Each member brought their unique energy to the boat. Lambert and Bolz kept the rhythm steady, while Len and IS added their signature strength. Ferdz and Chevy were the powerhouse duo, and Radhi and Jobai brought their A-game. A special shoutout to Ruby (Happy Birthday!!!!), who always keeps the team motivated and focused.

The Training Session

The Falcons covered an impressive distance of 5,556 meters—that’s like paddling from one end of a really long beach to the other! The moving time was 54 minutes and 40 seconds, which means they were paddling non-stop for almost an hour. But the entire Desert Falcons Morning Training session lasted from 6:34 AM to 7:46 AM. That’s over an hour of teamwork, determination, and maybe a few splashes here and there.

What makes this Desert Falcons Morning Training so special? It’s not just about the distance or the time—it’s about the teamwork. Paddling in sync, listening to the steerer, and pushing through the fatigue together is what builds a strong team. And let’s be honest, it’s also a lot of fun! There’s something magical about being out on the water under the morning sky, surrounded by teammates who are all working toward the same goal.

Celebrating Coach Andre’s Birthday

Here’s the best part: after the training, the team celebrated Coach Andre’s birthday with a small but heartfelt potluck. ISIS (Intan, IS, and the gang) brought black coffee, plates, cups, cutlery, and roasted chicken to make the celebration extra special.

It’s moments like these that remind us why the Desert Falcons are more than just a team—they’re a family. Celebrating milestones together, whether it’s a birthday or a training achievement, strengthens the bond between teammates and teams makes every session memorable.

Why Morning Training Matters

Morning training isn’t just about paddling—it’s about pushing limits, learning, and growing together. Each session helps the team:
🔥 Build endurance for future competitions
🔥 Sharpen paddling technique
🔥 Strengthen trust and teamwork

For new paddlers, it was a chance to learn from the pros. For veterans, it was an opportunity to lead and mentor. The Desert Falcons are already looking ahead to their next challenge, determined to keep improving, training, and racing hard.
