Sunday evenings at Deira Creek always bring a mix of calm water, city lights, and team energy. On August 31, 2025, the Desert Falcons gathered once again for another dragon boat paddling practice—a session filled with focus, laughter, and determination.
Call time was set at 7:00 PM, with loading at 7:25 PM. By 7:30 PM, the Falcons were off the dock in their Falcons Green jerseys, ready for another night of building teamwork and strength. With Coach Alain steering, the crew lined up for nearly an hour of training.
🏞 A Special Night of Dragon Boat Paddling Practice
This session brought a nice balance of returning paddlers and new friends. On board, we had Falcons regulars like Tonette, JJ, Gin, Ging, Radhi, Mahmoud, Intan, and IS. Alongside them were several newbies who jumped into the action with great spirit.
It’s always exciting to see new paddlers find their rhythm. At first, the strokes can feel tricky, but once they settle in, you can see the spark—when the boat starts moving smoothly and everyone realizes they’re part of something bigger.
💪 Training Focus: Building Sync and Rhythm
The session covered a total moving time of 57 minutes and 57 seconds and a distance of 3,913 meters. Instead of chasing speed, the focus was on sharpening rhythm and syncing strokes.
Coach Alain kept the drills straightforward but effective. Every call helped the team find better timing, and by mid-session, the boat was gliding smoothly. The sound of paddles striking together echoed across Deira Creek—proof that both newbies and veterans were starting to move as one.
🌟 Highlights from the Evening
- New paddlers finding their rhythm – 5 newbies jumped in with enthusiasm and quickly picked up the basics.
- Veterans setting the tone – experienced Falcons helped guide timing and body movement, making it easier for the newbies to blend in.
- Team spirit on full display – from call time to docking, encouragement and laughter kept the crew motivated.
It wasn’t just about strokes and drills—it was about creating an environment where everyone felt welcome, supported, and part of the family.
