There’s nothing quite like dragon boating at night. On Sunday, September 21, Desert Falcon held their 8th dragon boat evening training in Dubai at the lively waters of Deira Creek. With call time at 7:00 PM and training start at 7:30 PM, the team came together in their green Falcons jerseys, ready to paddle strong under the city lights.
Evening sessions bring a unique vibe. The water feels calmer, the air cooler, and the city lights create the perfect backdrop. For the Falcons, this wasn’t just another practice—it was another step forward in building speed, strength, and teamwork.
Guided by Captain Intan
Every boat needs a steady hand at the helm. This time, Coach and Steerer, Captain Intan, led the team with clear commands and precision steering. Her job was simple yet crucial: keep the boat on course and the crew in sync.
At the bow, pacers Steve (left) and JJ (right) set the rhythm. Behind them, familiar names like Gin, Radhi, Josh, Dzaki, Ging, Mikko, Mahmoud, and IS kept the momentum going. Even our new paddlers joined the action, showing promise and energy.
That’s the beauty of dragon boat evening training in Dubai, every paddle counts, whether you’re a veteran or just starting.

Training Stats That Tell the Story
For those who love numbers, here’s how the session looked:
- Moving Time: 1:08:57
- Distance Covered: 5,250 meters
- Venue: QD’s – Deira Creek
- Jersey: Falcons Green

These numbers show more than distance—they reflect teamwork, endurance, and consistency.
Why Evening Training Works
Practicing in the evening has its perks. Cooler weather keeps paddlers comfortable. The quiet waters of Deira Creek help the crew focus. And most importantly, evening training lets paddlers leave behind the stress of the day and give their full energy to the boat.
During this session, the Falcons worked on timing, endurance, and synchronizing with the pacers. Every stroke was about building unity, which is the real secret to moving fast on race day.
More Than Just Paddling
Of course, dragon boating is more than stats and drills. It’s about connection. Between loading the boat, sharing laughs, and pushing through fatigue, the team bonded even more.
That’s why the Falcons keep coming back. Each dragon boat evening training in Dubai is not just a workout, but a memory shared with teammates who feel more like family.
