From early morning call times to thrilling races, it was a day full of teamwork, adrenaline, and some seriously impressive paddling. Let’s break it all down for you!

Early Start, Big Energy

Day 1 kicked off bright and early with a 7:00 AM call time. Yep, the team was up before the sun, ready to hit the water at the stunning Jewel of the Creek in Dubai. Decked out in their vibrant Damen Orange jerseys, Desert Falcon and Damen Dragon looked sharp and ready to take on the competition.

Race Categories Galore

The team competed in three main race categories on Day 1, each with its own unique challenges:

1. Mixed 200m (10 men, 10 women): This race is all about balance and teamwork, with an equal mix of male and female paddlers.
2. Corporate Cup (14 men, 6 women): A slightly different lineup, but still packed with power and precision.
3. Community Cup (12 paddlers): A smaller team, but no less fierce when it comes to speed and coordination.

Race Results: How Did Desert Falcon and Damen Dragon Do?

Mixed 200m – Heat 5

• Lane 2: Desert Falcons
• Time: 1:00.18
• Rank: 3rd place

The competition was fierce, with Sharjah Paddle Tribe 2 taking 1st place with a time of 59.40, followed closely by Marlins in 2nd place at 59.75. HW Hawks came in 4th with a time of 1:03.96. While Desert Falcon didn’t take the top spot, they showed incredible determination and teamwork, finishing strong in 3rd place.

Corporate Cup – Heat 1

• Lane 1: Damen Dragon
• Time: 59.41 seconds
• Rank: 1st place

Damen Dragon absolutely dominated this race, finishing in 1st place with a blazing time of 59.41 seconds. DP World GCC came in 2nd with a time of 1:08.28. What a way to start the day!

Mixed 200m – Rep 2

• Lane 2: Desert Falcons
• Time: 59.78 seconds
• Rank: 2nd place

In the Mixed 200m Rep 2 race, Desert Falcon showed their strength by finishing in 2nd place with a time of 59.78 seconds. Dubai Dolphins took 1st place with a time of 58.97, while Wasl Fit came in 3rd at 1:02.74.

Community Cup – Heat 1

• Lane 1: Damen Dragon
• Time: 58.94 seconds
• Rank: 1st place

Damen Dragon continued their winning streak in the Community Cup, finishing in 1st place with an impressive time of 58.94 seconds. HW Hawks came in 2nd at 1:04.22, followed by AD Jets in 3rd at 1:11.17 and Algerian Dragon in 4th at 1:13.26.

Mixed 200m – Semi 1

• Lane 3: Desert Falcons
• Time: 1:06.45
• Rank: 3rd place

In the Mixed 200m Semi 1 race, Desert Falcon faced tough competition but held their own, finishing in 3rd place with a time of 1:06.45. Titans took 1st place with a time of 55.24 seconds, followed by Paddle Tribe in 2nd at 57.60 seconds.

Corporate & Community Cup Finals: Silver Medals!

The day ended on a high note as both Damen Dragon (Corporate Cup) and Desert Falcon (Community Cup) advanced to the finals and brought home SILVER MEDALS! What an incredible achievement!

Community Cup Final

• 1st Place: Emirates Airlines – 54.05 seconds
• 2nd Place: Damen Dragon – 56.17 seconds
• 3rd Place: Wasl Fit – 57.97 seconds
