Hey there! The Desert Falcons are back at it again, and this time, they’re starting their day with a sunrise training session. On Saturday, January 18th, the team gathered at QD’s – Deira Creek for a morning full of teamwork, determination, and a whole lot of fun. Let’s dive into the details of this exciting session!
Rise and Shine for Sunrise Training

The call time was 6:10 AM, and by 6:20 AM, the team was already loading up. By 6:25 AM, the training officially began. The venue? The beautiful QD’s – Deira Creek, where the calm waters and morning breeze set the perfect scene for a great workout.
And let’s not forget the dress code—orange jerseys! Not only do they make the team look sharp, but they also add a pop of color to the morning. Who says training can’t be stylish?
Meet the Team
The training was led by the amazing Bols, the team’s steerer for the morning. His job? To keep everyone in sync and make sure the boat glided smoothly through the water. And with a team like this, that’s no easy task!
Here’s how the team lined up:
- Bow (Left): Gob, Len, Khaled, Mahmoud, Ferdz, Dennis
- Stroke (Right): Janine, Yti, Chevy, Babiker, Lambert
Each member brought their unique energy to the boat. Gob and Janine kept the rhythm steady, while Len and Yti added their signature strength. Khaled and Chevy were the powerhouse duo, and Mahmoud and Babiker brought their A-game. A special shoutout to Ferdz and Lambert, who always keep the team motivated and focused.
The Training Session

The Falcons covered an impressive distance of 5,721 meters—that’s like paddling from one end of a really long beach to the other! The moving time was 1 hour, 1 minute, and 52 seconds, which means they were paddling non-stop for over an hour. But the entire Desert Falcons Sunrise Training session lasted from 6:44 AM to 8:10 AM. That’s over an hour and a half of teamwork, determination, and maybe a few splashes here and there.
What makes this Desert Falcons Sunrise Training so special? It’s not just about the distance or the time—it’s about the teamwork. Paddling in sync, listening to the steerer, and pushing through the fatigue together is what builds a strong team. And let’s be honest, it’s also a lot of fun! There’s something magical about being out on the water under the morning sky, surrounded by teammates who are all working toward the same goal.
Why Sunrise Training Matters
So, why is Desert Falcons Sunrise Training such a big deal? It’s not just about getting stronger or faster—it’s about building trust, communication, and camaraderie. Every stroke of the paddle, every shout of encouragement, and every drop of sweat brings the team closer together.
If you missed their last morning session, you’ve got to check out their green jersey training where they paddled under the morning sun and enjoyed a delicious post-workout breakfast. You can read all about it here: Desert Falcons Morning Training: Green Jerseys and Pancit Power.
For the newbies, this was a chance to learn the ropes (or should I say paddles?) from the more experienced members. And for the old paddlers, it was an opportunity to share their knowledge and keep the team spirit alive. Everyone had a role to play, and everyone contributed to the success of the session.
