Desert Falcons Green Shirt Training: Pushing Endurance on Deira Creek

Another early morning, another powerful training session for the Desert Falcons! 🌊💪 The team hit the water at QD’s – Deira Creek on March 29, geared up in green shirts, ready to push limits and sharpen skills.

A Morning of Grit & Teamwork

With the steerer Gob leading the charge, paddlers strapped in for a high-intensity endurance session. The day’s program was no walk in the park—it was designed to build stamina, refine technique, and simulate race conditions.

🏁 The Training Breakdown:
🔹 Pyramid Drills – Starting with 10/10 strokes, gradually increasing to 50/50, pushing strength and coordination.
🔹 Half/Half HoldThree intense sets of 30-second bursts, testing the crew’s control and endurance.
🔹 Start & Transition Drills – Sharpening acceleration with varied 10/10 to 20/20/20 sequences.
🔹 Race Pieces – The real deal! Falcons fired up with 30/30, 40/30/20, and 40/40/20 strokes, mirroring real race intensity.

Covering Distance & Building Strength

🚣 Total Distance Covered: 6,771 meters
Moving Time: 1 hour 17 minutes
Training Duration: 6:06 AM – 7:35 AM

The team powered through every segment, holding strong formations and syncing their strokes to perfection. The longer drills tested their stamina, while the sprints honed explosiveness and race-ready starts.

Bouncing Back After a Canceled Session

March 27’s session had to be canceled due to low attendance, but the Falcons came back stronger! The dedication was evident as the boat surged forward, tackling every drill with determination and teamwork.
