The heat is rising, but the Desert Falcons arenโt slowing down! After a short break following the recent races, the crew reunited on Saturday, May 10 for a refreshing morning water training session at QD’s – Deira Creek. This time, we brought back the green jerseys and the unstoppable Falcon spirit!
โ๏ธ Summer Heat, Same Falcon Grit

Itโs been a while since our last training, and yes, the Dubai summer is starting to show its fiery side. But that didnโt stop the team from answering the 5:15 AM call time. With Coach Alain leading from the helm, our paddlers were ready to shake off the rust and get back in rhythm.
By 5:30 AM, the boat was gliding through the calm creek watersโcutting through silence, splash by splash. We missed this feeling!
๐ฅ The Crew That Showed Up
Hereโs a shout-out to the amazing paddlers who made it this morning:
Bow (Left) & Stroke (Right)
- JJ & Ferdz
- Len & Cris C
- Dennis & Bolz
- Neil & Lambert
- Loren & Intan
- Anne & Lenโs friend
We also welcomed two new friendly faces to our boatโAnne and Lenโs guest! Big cheers to them for jumping in and keeping pace like pros. ๐
๐ฃโโ๏ธ A Smooth Comeback Session
Our Desert Falcons summer paddle was all about reconnecting with the water and shaking off that post-race sluggishness. The team covered a solid 4,736 meters in 46 minutes of moving time, training continuously from 5:45 AM to 7:15 AM.
We focused on syncing our strokes, finding our pace, and supporting each otherโespecially under the growing morning heat. ๐ฆ
Coach Alain kept things simple and fun, allowing us to rediscover our momentum while enjoying the peaceful Deira Creek surroundings. Sometimes, the best sessions are the ones where we slow down just enough to reconnect.
๐๏ธ Training in the Summer? Challenge Accepted!
We get itโsummer training can be tough. The sun rises early, the heat kicks in fast, and just getting out of bed at 5:00 AM feels like a mini victory. But guess what? The Desert Falcons arenโt the kind of team that backs down from a challenge.
Instead of avoiding the heat, we adapt. We come preparedโwith water bottles in hand, towels around our necks, and a mindset focused on training smarter, not just harder. That means starting earlier, pacing ourselves, and supporting each other every step (or stroke!) of the way.
Yes, the early mornings can be brutalโbut theyโre also beautiful. Thereโs something special about watching the sun rise while gliding across Deira Creek with your teammates. The world is still quiet, the water is calm, and all that exists is your boat, your paddle, and your crew.
Todayโs session reminded us that every paddle stroke matters, especially after a break. Itโs not just about building muscle or speedโitโs about rebuilding rhythm, trust, and team spirit. Every splash was a step toward stronger races and better days ahead.
We may be paddling in the heat, but weโre cool under pressure. Thatโs the Falcon way. ๐ช๐ฆ
