Hey there! The Desert Falcons are back on the water, and this time, they’re rocking their orange jerseys for another exciting evening of training. On Thursday, January 9th, the team gathered at QD’s – Deira Creek for a session full of energy, teamwork, and, of course, a few splashes. Let’s dive into the details of this fun and productive evening!
Kicking Off the Evening
The call time was 7:10 PM, and by 7:15 PM, the team was already warming up. By 7:25 PM, they were loading up, and by 7:40 PM, the training officially began. The venue? The beautiful QD’s – Deira Creek, where the calm waters and evening breeze set the perfect scene for a great workout.
And let’s not forget the dress code—orange jerseys! Not only do they make the team look sharp, but they also add a pop of color to the evening. Who says training can’t be stylish?
Meet the Team

The training was led by the incredible Intan, the team’s steerer and captain for the evening. Her job? To keep everyone in sync and make sure the boat glided smoothly through the water. And with a team like this, that’s no easy task!
Here’s how the team lined up:
- Bow (Left): Mahmoud, Tonette, Khaled, Len
- Stroke (Right): Babiker, Janine, Lamberto, Jobai, Is
Each member brought their unique energy to the boat. Mahmoud and Babiker kept the rhythm steady, while Tonette and Janine added their signature strength. Khaled and Lamberto were the powerhouse duo, and Jobai and Is brought their A-game. A special shoutout to Len, who always keeps the team grounded and focused.
The Training Session
The Falcons covered an impressive distance of 5,421 meters—that’s like paddling from one end of a really long beach to the other! The moving time was 54 minutes and 52 seconds, which means they were paddling non-stop for almost an hour. But the entire training session lasted from 7:45 PM to 9:00 PM. That’s over an hour of teamwork, determination, and maybe a few splashes here and there.
What makes this Desert Falcon Training so special? It’s not just about the distance or the time—it’s about the teamwork. Paddling in sync, listening to the steerer, and pushing through the fatigue together is what builds a strong team. And let’s be honest, it’s also a lot of fun! There’s something magical about being out on the water under the evening sky, surrounded by teammates who are all working toward the same goal.
Why Training Matters
So, why is Desert Falcon Training such a big deal? It’s not just about getting stronger or faster—it’s about building trust, communication, and camaraderie. Every stroke of the paddle, every shout of encouragement, and every drop of sweat brings the team closer together.
For the newbies, this was a chance to learn the ropes (or should I say paddles?) from the more experienced members. And for the old paddlers, it was an opportunity to share their knowledge and keep the team spirit alive. Everyone had a role to play, and everyone contributed to the success of the session.
