The Desert Falcons returned to Deira Creek for another determined and disciplined Dubai Dragon Boat Training session on November 16, 2025. Despite the weekend crowds and the usual Sunday rush, the team showed up ready to paddle, improve, and push through another night of technical work and endurance building. This session carried the same momentum from our recent trainings, including our community paddling event with Five Guys, which you can read about here: Desert Falcon Community Paddling Event. It also continued the spirit of resilience we saw in our previous session: Unbreakable Falcons – Nov 12 Training.
Despite the weekend traffic, the paddlers arrived on time, bringing solid energy and full commitment to the evening session. Under the leadership of Captain Intan, the team maintained consistency and synchronized power throughout the night.
With every practice, the Falcons reinforce what makes this team stand out : heart, discipline, and the ability to adapt to any situation.

Captain Intan set the structure early: smooth warm-up strokes, foundation drills, and controlled power sets to reinforce timing and rhythm across both sides of the boat.
🛶 Crew Line-Up (Bow to Stern)
Despite having only four solid pairs, the team executed the evening training with impressive composure. Reagan and JJ led the front, setting stability and timing for the crew. Behind them, paddlers filled in selectively, ensuring the boat stayed balanced and responsive. Tina, Miguel, IS, Josh, Gin, Radi, and Mark contributed across both sides, keeping the rhythm and power consistent.
The reduced but well-coordinated roster highlighted one important truth: the Desert Falcons can perform with strength and unity regardless of numbers. It was a display of teamwork, trust, and proper technique. All essential for competitive dragon boat racing in Dubai.

🔥 Dubai Dragon Boat Training Highlights (Nov 16 Session)
Under Captain Intan, the session focused heavily on:
- Water feel and blade placement – ensuring each stroke started clean, deep, and connected
- Timing discipline – synchronizing with the front pair during acceleration
- Smooth transitions – shifting between sets without losing form
- Power endurance – maintaining consistency over long intervals
Reagan and JJ at the front set a steady pace, supported closely by Tina, Miguel, IS, Josh, Gin, Radi, and Mark who powered through the mid and stern sections. The right and left sides balanced well, especially during the acceleration phases.
Despite being a Sunday evening, the crew performed with weekday-level intensity, a strong sign of commitment as the team continues to level up before upcoming events.
🎉 A Note of Appreciation

🦅 Final Thoughts – Desert Falcons Dubai Dragon Boat Training
This training session served as a reminder that dragon boat performance isn’t only about having a full crew. It’s about commitment, timing, and shared focus. The Desert Falcons proved once again that whether we paddle with 20, 12, or even 8 paddlers, the heart remains the same : strong, synchronized, and unbreakable.
With every session, the team inches closer to sharper form, stronger teamwork, and competition-ready performance.
