On the morning of September 21st, the Desert Falcons hit the water for a bright and early session at QD’s – Deira Creek. The team was eager and ready to take on another challenging training session led by Coach Alain.
Call Time: 5:15 AM
Despite the early hour, everyone showed up, yawns and all, but with big smiles. After some stretching and warm-up exercises, we started loading into the boat at 5:30 AM. By 5:50 AM, it was time to paddle!
Coach/Steerer: Alain
Alain took the helm as steerer, guiding us through the session with his usual calm and steady hand. With his guidance, we knew we were in for a great training day.
The Line-Up:
- BOW (Pacers): Intan (Left) and JJ (Right)
- Left: RaDy, Len, Aby, Khaled, Neil, Dennis, Ferdz, Philip
- Right: Nhiel, Chevy, Osman, Lambert, Jan, Richard, Bolz, Jobai
With a full boat, the team was balanced and ready to go. The pacers, Intan and JJ, set the rhythm, keeping everyone in sync. Each paddler worked hard to maintain the flow, from the front of the boat to the back, ensuring smooth and powerful strokes.
Distance Covered:
We covered 6,517 meters in a moving time of 1 hour and 26 minutes. It was a long, steady session focused on endurance and technique. The team did an amazing job staying in sync and keeping a consistent pace, pushing through every stroke as a unit.
What Made This Session Special?
This session was all about endurance and teamwork. With over 6 kilometers to paddle, the challenge was to keep a steady rhythm while maintaining our strength. The balance between experienced paddlers and newbies made it a great learning experience for everyone. Special shout-out to the pacers for leading the boat, and to the newer members for stepping up and keeping pace with the team.
Wrapping Up:
After nearly an hour and a half of hard paddling, we made our way back to shore. There were a lot of tired but happy faces. It was a great way to start the weekend, and the Desert Falcons left the session feeling stronger and more united.
Great work, Falcons! Let’s keep building on this momentum and continue to grow as a team. See you all at the next training session! 🚣♂️🦅
